Mean Girls DVD mock up

So, as I was watching Mean Girls the other night, while browsing around the criterion collection website, looking at all the amazing designs they have, it struck me. A Mean Girls Criterion version. Truly, Mean Girls is a culturally significant film, reaching audiences across malls around the world. Beyond its pop appeal, with the bright pink colors, tween marketing, and Lindsay Lohan playing the lead, it's a real gem of satirical snarkiness with great performances by Tina Fey and Tim Meadows. We can only hope Criterion sees it that way someday. In the mean time, here are my last few nights worth of work:

A couple of different approaches to the title treatment on the cover.
The unadressed space at the bottom left may get taken care of, if I can find the symbols typically found there on Criterion editions, but we'll have to see.

It was a fun little project. I'll probably end up making more Criterion mock ups, as the spacing of DVD packages is fun and challenging to work with.
